• Short Summary

Fibreglass figures of animals are made and put in place in Butlin's Holiday Camp, Skegness.

  • Description

    Skegness, Lincolnshire.

Several C/Us of large animal and human figures in holiday camp theme ride. In a design studio we see artists at work on these figures; making sketches, sticking sheets of fibre glass onto moulds and coating them with polyester resin. A fibre glass figure of an elephant is spray-painted; several figures are seen in a workshop being given a final touch of paint; most are of animals.

The figures are put into position in Butlin's holiday camp "where you take a vintage car railway ride around a truly loony zoo".

Note: for search purposes Butlins. Cuts exist - see separate record.
