• Short Summary

Felix Mendelssohn's Hawaiian Serenaders play 'Paradise Island' beside a Berkshire river.

  • Description

    No titles.

    Berkshire.

Point of view shot from a boat drifting along a river, past the drooping branches of a tree. We then see and hear Felix Mendelssohn's Hawaiian Serenaders in printed shirts sitting and playing a slow, lilting tune - 'Paradise Island' - on the bank of the river. A Hawaiian girl in a grass skirt strums a ukulele and sings. Another Hawaiian girl makes authentic 'hand movements' to the music.

Several shots of people drifting by in boats. Exotic glamour girls in swimsuits and leis, wearing flowers in their hair recline in punts as they are rowed along by men in Hawaiian shirts.
