Bao Dai leaves Nice airport, watched by his family and French officials.
Bao Dai of Annam left Nice for Singapore, on his way back to Saigon to head the new Vietnam republic. He will make the final stage of his journey in a warship flying the Vietnam colours. Bao Dai is expected to go to Dalat in Annam, 170 miles north east of Saigon to await the repeal of Cochin China's colonial status by the French Parliament.
