    Evelyn set off at 1pm on Saturday 21st September and arrived at John o'Groats 4 days 6 hours and 28 minutes later on Wednesday 25th. Her actual riding time was 54 hours with the distance varying in reports from 667.5 to 729 miles. However, both Claud Butler ( whose make of bike she was riding ) and Elliman Athletic Rub both advertised it as 698 miles which averaged her ride out at 13 mph.
