    My father was on Sealion at this time.
    Still have several newspaper cuttings relating to this incident.
    Sealion was one of four subs that had been based in Malta before the war.
    Of the four only Sealion was not sunk by enemy action.

    My Grandfather was Chief Petty Officer Clarke and I can remember very well him recounting tales of this event. My mother, aged three in 1940, went to the cinema to see Pathe news with her mother and sister and shouted 'That's my Daddy!' when he appeared on screen. They had thought Sealion had been sunk. Lovely to see this piece of film and the submarine which brings back many proud memories of my Grandad.
