Cuts relating to EPIC OF THE FROZEN NORTH about the rescue of the crew of the lost airship 'Italia'.
Cuts relating to 'EPIC OF THE FROZEN NORTH' in G 1516.
Various shots show two men getting into a biplane in an airfield; one of the men holds up a bag of film for the camera. A banner on the side of the plane reads 'Pathe News - Flying Nobile Relief Film 4750 Miles'.
L/S of a seaplane, the Isaat, on the water in an Arctic area - Spitsbergen in Norway?; several men get into a boat and start rowing away, towing the plane along. On a ship we see three men in civilian clothes shaking hands with the ship's officers (survivors of the Italia crew?). L/S and night M/S of a seaplane landing on the water; two Naval men row out in a small boat towards it. M/S of some kind of large metal grid on the snow - could be the frame of the lost Airship Italia?
Several shots show a seaplane hoisted to the mast of a ship on the water. L/S of the snow-covered settlement at Spitsbergen. L/Ss of ships on the water. M/S of a Naval man pacing up and down on the deck of a ship. L/S from a moving boat of icebergs in the distance. M/Ss of a group of men sitting at a table (below deck on the ship?) during a meal.
Note: this is quite confusing - this appears to be footage / cuts from the story 'Epic of the Frozen North' in this issue (which was severely cut), but I find it difficult to figure out who is who as it is all quite muddled - can anyone help?
