A look at a massive hangar and mooring mast for airships.

  • Description

    Cardington, Befordshire.

Title: "EMPIRE'S LARGEST AIRSHIP SHED - 812 ft. long and 179 ft. high built to house new Air Liner Service - is rapidly nearing completion".

Panning L/S of a massive air craft hangar; it is only partly completed with much of the metal frame showing. Low angled shot of the roof taken from inside the hangar. M/S of workmen climbing up the outside of the metal frame of the shed, camera tilts up as they near the roof. L/S of the men climbing up the metal frame wall of the shed. Various L/Ss of three workmen sitting on a bit of the frame fixing a girder into place (looks very high up).

    Intertitle: "D-I-N-N-E-R!"

L/S of the workmen climbing down the frame. Low angled shot of workmen hanging from a bit of the frame, two of the step onto a girder suspended from a crane. L/S of the men clinging onto the girder in mid air. L/S of the crane lowering the men and the girder to ground level. L/S of the interior of the hangar; a couple of workmen slide and clamber down the internal frame.

Intertitle: "The new giant 200 ft. high mooring mast will be able to load the Airships with fuel, water and gas whilst at anchorage".

L/S of the mooring mast - looks like a pylon with a shed on the top. L/S of men climbing up a staircase on the trunk of the mast. Various L/Ss of the shed at the top of the mast. L/A of men posing and waving on the roof of the shed.

After a second of spacing, cuts / out takes start at 01:31:31. Some more shots of the shed and the mooring mast from different angles. Nothing outrageously different from the edited story.
