EMPIRE DAY AT ST. PAUL'S 1914 - 1918. The 'two British officers' is incorrect. The officer on the left shown in the footage taken inside the cathedral is Major-General John J. Pershing, Commanding Officer of the American Expeditionary Force when the United States entered the war in 1917. Given this circumstance the clip must be either May 1917 or 1918.
