    Amendment September 2014: A user to the site writes that the film is actually President Eisenhower's arrival in Afghanistan in December 1959. Eisenhower carried out a tour of European, Asian and North African countries from 4-22 December 1959.

    I agree with the previous contributor that the scene in this clip is not Turkey, but Afghanistan.

    Specifically, the airport seen is Bagram Airport in Kabul.

    "shots of a Turkish Guard of Honour" - no, they're the Afghan Honour Guard.

    The man pictured at 0:43 is King Mohammed Zahir Shah, (the last King of Afghanistan).

    These pictures are from Afghanistan not Turkey, during Eisenhower's eleven nation tour in 1959. Please correct. Thanks. Mehmet Sagnak
