  • Description

Titles read: "EDEN BACK FROM RUSSIA".

    London (?).

M/S of Anthony Eden sitting at a desk. He speaks to camera about his recent trip to Russia, mentioning his journey on the Trans-Iranian railway, the freezing weather which froze his moustache, his tour of the war area and the wrecked German tanks and bodies in the snow. He talks about a conversation he had with some German prisoners and of their inferior uniforms and equipment.

Various shots throughout the speech show Eden during his visit, wearing a fur hat. He alights from the Trans-Iranian railway accompanied by Soviet Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Maisky and Anastas Mikoyan. We see Eden out looking at tanks and German corpses on the snow-covered war front.

Eden ends his talk by saying that we must work together to win the war and to win the peace. He says that with the experience of the Moscow talks fresh in his mind he is convinced that we can do both.
