• Short Summary

Eddie Peabody and His Beachcombers play Hawaiian-style music on electric guitars.

  • Description

Titles read: "PATHETONE - Presents - THE FAMOUS AMERICAN ARTIST EDDIE PEABODY - AND HIS BEACHCOMBERS (WITH THE NEW ELECTRAPHONE)".

    London, probably Pathe Studio.

M/S of a man in a Naval uniform - probably Eddie Peabody. He shows us 'The Electraphone' - his all-electric string band - and tries out each electric guitar so we can hear the sound they make individually.

Eddie's band, The Beachcombers, enter wearing sailor suits and start to play the instruments - the electric ones being left on a central table as if drawing their power from it! (Probably didn't have any flexes.) Two other men play a regular double bass and a guitar. They play 'Song of the Islands' as we see several shots of Hawaii. They then play 'The Hilo March' (?) as we see shots of hula girls and more scenic views of Hawaii.
