He takes some jumps. "Note how loosely the reins may be held...even in jumping when correctly balanced." We see him take a jump in slow motion. "Observe the forward "seat" ... no jar on landing..." M/S of the jump being taken in slow motion.
"If the balance is wrong the hands come up, the feet go outwards ...and you see this..." Col McTaggart does a fake fall off the horse. "The Colonel uses no spurs...even when training a horse." The Col. rides the horse in and out of a pair of poles. C/U of the Colonel's legs as he sits on his mount. C/U of the Col. fiddling with the horse's bridle. He takes off the reins to prove that they are only made of paper.
