First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, Earl Beatty is honoured by the citzens of Sheffield.

M/S of a chauffeur driven car pulling up to the curb, a row of naval officers on the pavement stand to attention. Earl Beatty steps out of the car and shakes hands with the mayor, who is accompanied by his wife and two men in ceremonial robes. C/U of the Earl talking to the naval officers on the pavement.

M/S of a car stopping outside a wooden hut, a man in military uniform comes out and uses a hose to fill the petrol tank of the car. Behind the car is a motorbike with a side car, the uniformed man also fills their tank. M/S of a large van / car filled with people, the tank is filled, as the car drives off the people wave.

More shots of the mayor greeting Earl Beatty. More shots of the Earl inspecting the naval officers standing on the pavement. We see the Earl get into his car and drive away. M/S of a troop of sailors on the pavement, in the background a doulbe decker bus passes.

Note: The story may have been re-edited - the middle section - showing different vehicles being filled with petrol - doesn't seem to relate to the main Earl Beatty story. AH 2000
