    LS Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh arrives to open the new Woodside Playing Fields. He inspects VIPs accompanied by the Mayor of Watford, (Alderman Edward Amey). CU He shakes hands with Harold Abrahams. LS Platform, as Duke speaks. (2 shots). LS Small crowd listens. LS Relay runner Bobby Scholes runs up to the platform to hand over a Loyal Message of Greeting.

    Various shots, as the Duke leaves the platform and looks at young athletes training on the field including pole-vaulting. Further shots of Duke watching javelin throwers, female discus throwers, high jumping and putting-the-shot. Finally Duke fires starting pistol to start the cross-country run. High shot, Duke and Mayor climbing to the edge of the ground.
