You may recall that the General Assembly of the United Nations asked the Secretary General to seek, the release of United Nations Command Personnel detained in China, part of the aftermath of the Korean War. They elected the Secretary General whatever means be found most appropriate. I felt that it would serve a useful purpose for me to take up in personal talks with Mr. Chou-en-Lai this matter. I do not know what the outcome will be but I'll do my best, bearing in mind not only the general individual interests of the families at stake." He repeats much of his previous statement.
