    A man in a old-fashioned military type uniform w/ large shiny disc on the sleeve stands on deck of a boat at foot of bridge; he speaks through a megaphone. Shot looking down at one of the racers climbing from rowboat to a long; narrow racing scull; another man in the rowboat helps him w/ the long oars. He rows off.

    More rowers going under bridge. Sculls line up for start of race. Man on larger boat gives signal to start. Tracking shots of sculls as they go past.

    Note: traditional sculling prize for Thames watermen; the race was founded in 1715 by Irish actor Thomas Doggett and is run every August 1.
