  • Short Summary

Ruined factory or warehouse buildings in Belgium.

  • Description

    Dixmunde, Belgium - wrecked houses.

Shot of 2 walls partially standing of totally hollowed out 4 or 5-storey building - could have been warehouse or factory. Shot of one long wall with many windows - 8 across & 4 down; rubble in FG; light coming through windows.

Another great shot reducing war to human level; w/ extreme contrast; juxtaposition etc. A young girl sits straddling a huge bomb shell - funny but terrible.

Children. War damage; destruction. Bomb damaged. Ruins.

  1. Pieter Mannaerts says

The town\\\'s name is Dixmude (in French) or Diksmuide (in current Dutch; \"Dixmuide\" in old Dutch spelling).
