    Digging Graves.

Location of events unknown - France?

A few French soldiers enter from left; walk along snowy road near ruined building - pan on them walking rt. on road; with stone wall in BG. They stop at grave in FG with cross marker; and 1 officer lays wreath on marker. Like a small graveside funeral or memorial ceremony. They all stand straight & salute; then turn; walk away back toward the old stone buildings; wagon in front.

Shot looking straight ahead at steps built along hillside; supported by small branches. Soldiers appear from top; descending - several carry shovels; they walk down past camera. Pan left; looking over steep slope with many bare bushes; can see soldiers at bottom of screen - from shoulders up - & can see that they're digging.

World War One; casualties. Grave digging. Death.
