    Montage of library shots:

    M. Claudel in Washington in 1931 when he awarded Legion of Honour to Admiral Byrd after his Arctic expedition. In 1939, Claudel with aged people at a dinner given by the Catholic Welfare organisation, in Paris. In 1952, signing his books at a charity occasion for the benefit of General Leclerc's 2nd Armoured Division.

    In 1953, in Hamburg: various shots his play "Tobie and Sara" being performed. Claudel is called on the stage at show's end.
