BERND Rosemeyer (short for Bernhard, not Bernard).

The "woman in a headscarf" is his wife, the aviatrix Elly Beinhorn.

Rosemeyer was killed in a speed record attempt in a streamlined Auto Union on the Reichsautobahn Frankfurt-Darmstadt (A5) on 28th January 1938.
