Could include US ambassador in Belgium Mr Kirk, but not recognised by this cataloguer.

    US General Lucius Clay lays a wreath on a symbolic coffin. Monseigneur Van Roey blesses the coffin.

    M/S as US riflemen fire a salute. U.S. Servicemen do a slow march through the streets, escorting the cortege to the harbour. Soldiers carry wreaths in the procession. LS of planes flying in formation overhead. Men in the crowd take their hats off as the procession goes by.

    The coffin is carried onto the US army ship 'Joseph V Connolly'. The ship moves slowly out of the harbour. It is decorated with wreaths.
