French President De Gaulle speaks on forthcoming elections - he is to stand again.
LS. A large castle. French flag flying on top. MS. President of France Charles de Gaulle seated behind a desk making his announcement about the forthcoming elections in France - natural sound, French. He says (translation): "Today I think it is my duty to hold myself ready to continue my task, knowing full well how much effort is involved, but convinced that it is the best service to France at this moment. As in this way land has the occasion to confirm, by its suffrages, the stable and efficient regime we have together instituted. By electing the President, you will have the power to ensure, in your own conscience over and above all partisan tendencies and foreign influences, personal interests, the way France will follow".
