Cuts from newsreel 47/79 - Daily Express Film Ball, London.

Shot of comic actors / comedians Kenneth Horne and Richard 'Stinker' Murdoch walking across the dance floor.

Several shots of the fashion parade where models wear clothes from forthcoming films, many are lavish period costumes. Horne and Murdoch seem to be providing the commentary at the microphone. One of the models seems to be a very young Diana Dors! (Seen in M/S with an upswept hairdo.)

Dark shots of someone signing autographs - looks like Richard Murdoch. Horne and Murdoch on a platform at the microphone. Four singers, the Radio Revellers, perform at the mike - one plays guitar. Very very quick shot of actor Jack Warner at the microphone. Film star Patricia Roc is seen with actor Peter Bull and actress Joan Greenwood.

Shot of two actresses chatting in animated fashion - one could be Valerie Hobson. Angle C/U of pretty actress Hazel Court. Several shots of vocal group The Ink Spots singing at the microphone - one plays guitar. Shots of the guests dancing at the ball. Some look annoyed at the camera getting in their way, others give us a big grin.

Guests and Richard Murdoch watch the entertainment. Angle shot of Tommy Trinder on stage at microphone. More footage of the Ink Spots.
