    Corporal Holmes is awarded Victoria Cross at ceremony in his honour at Southport. Horse drawn carriage pulls up with Holmes, another officer and 2 men in bowler hats in back, Holmes salutes. C/U men in back of open carriage, a crowd surrounds it.

    The man seen here is Frederick Holmes, a Lance Corporal at the time he won his Victoria Cross.
