  • Description

Reel 3: Man made waterfall or dam at Abatesco. (Or could be the river Abatesco?) Intertitle describes the early morning sound of the siren calling workers to the factory in Abbazia. C/U of the siren (?) Top shots of the factory. The lorries drive through the gates with their loads of timber. Top shot of the timber yard. Men use mechanised chain saws to cut through large logs. Logs are winched through the air. Machines saw the wood into very thick planks, then again into thinner ones. In the forge metal is hammered and men work at the furnace. Wood is dried out in special buildings. Top shots of the buildings - presumably heated. C/U of machinery. Men pull trolleys loaded with timber. Planks are stacked. Top shot of the piles of wood. Top shot of the roof of a building - intertitle describes anti-fire precautions - the roofs have a layer of water upon them.

Note: Very good shots of timber industry. Film incomplete?
