Title reads: "Scarborough. Princess Mary - names and launches two of the latest Lifeboats in one day on Yorkshire coast." (31/64). Views of RNLI lifeboat with crew. MS of Princess Mary, the Princess Royal with civic dignitaries on a podium - they appear to be singing a hymn. Princess Mary speaks into a large microphone. The lifeboat is hauled down the beach and into the water.
Title reads: "Plymouth. Royal Visit to the West Country. The Prince of Wales attends the Guildhall to take up his office as High Steward of Plymouth." Plymouth, Devon. Prince Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) arrives in front of Guildhall. Troops lined up for inspection. LV Prince inspects. He talks to some veterans who are lined up. The Prince leaves Guildhall with dignitaries. Walk to another building.
Title reads: "HRH Prince George performs opening ceremony of Historical Pageant of Bradford" (31/57) Bradford, Yorkshire. Prince George, Duke of Kent walks to his seat in a covered stand. He speaks to open the pageant. He takes his seat. Views of the pageant. People dressed in medieval costume frolic and dance and walk around. There is a recreation of a battle. Men ride by on horses. Men in mock armour fight with swords.
Title reads: "London. State opening of Parliament. The King & Queen drive in state to open one of the most momentous Parliaments of our long history." (32/94) The Royal Carriage leaves Buckingham Palace. Roads lined by members of the Guards regiment. Yeomen of the Guard (Beefeaters) walk alongside. Close shot of carriage, Queen Mary and King George V. Shots of the procession on way to Westminster. Behind carriage are various Guards and Cavalry regiments. Crowds have come out to line the route. Carriage nears Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament). More shots of the royals in the carriage. The next shots show the procession leaving the Palace of Westminster. It is raining, crowds shelter beneath umbrellas.
