The unexploded bomb was in fact at Coleshill near Amersham in Bucks. It dropped in November 1940 and was excavated in 1946. The unit involved was 22 Bomb
Disposal Company Royal Engineers, stationed near Beaconsfield. It took several weeks of work to remove the bomb, according to one of the sappers present, who is
now 88 years old.
