    M/S as the camera pans across city officials and Lord Mayor, Margaret Bevan, walking down the road followed by a boat pulled by horses. Sea cadets and crowds of people stand at the side. Naval personnel march up the street behind the boat. M/S of officials on a balcony, a man holds a large ring, swings it backwards and forwards, and tosses it into the Mersey. M/S as a large wreath is thrown into the river. The Lord Mayor inspects a line of sailors.

    Intertitle - 'Thousands of citizens visited the mighty "Rodney" built on the Merseyside, after she had berthed in vast Gladstone Dock, the largest in the world.'
