    A girl in a village climbs up a ladder and waters some flowers she has planted in a lamp post. The lamp is not being used because of the blackout. (Location not specified - somewhere in England!)

    At Burnham Beeches in Buckinghamshire we see beech wood being felled and sawn, then crafted into tent pegs by Albert Carter. Thousands of finished pegs are shown stacked, ready for delivery to the Army. "The war brings into prominence the ancient craft of tent peg making" says commentator.
