L/S of meat and sausages as well as other edible goodies on the deck, sailors stand guard over them. L/S of H.M.S. Hood, the camera pans down the guns to a sailor ladling rum (?) out of a big barrel into the containers the other sailors have brought along, these range from cups to buckets, however they all get the same amount! C/U of one sailor drinking his out of a bowl, he smiles and rubs his stomach.

Intertitle - ' ... "come to the Cookhouse door" boys, is real music to Tommy Atkins' ears at Christmas time.'

L/S of the soldiers lined up outside the cookhouse, the cook emerges with a big tray and they all eagerly follow him, it looks to have pies or puddings on it. C/U of the chef holding the tray, there is holly stuck in the top.

Note: the latter part of the item from the intertitle to the end seems to be from 'Christmas scenes in the Army' (aka '"Come to the Cookhouse Door" Boys' ) in G 940 on *PM0294*.
