    LV teams in centre of White City arena. SV London and Moscow flags held by teams. GV floodlit stadium. SV crowd. STV. The 10,000 metre race, Ken Norris comfortably in the lead from Alexander Anufryev with Frank Sando laying third. The other Russian is well out of the running. SCU Dr Roger Bannister in crowd. LV pan with Norris as he races up and crosses the finishing line. Sando finished second. SCU Russian athletes watching the start of the next race. STV pan, 440 yards hurdles on the way. SV back view, Lituyev No 3, the world record holder in second lane and laying third. SCU Russian athletes watching. LV towards and pan, Lituyev well in the lead as he races towards the finish and new world record, followed by Kane of London, past post. CU Lituyev. LV 100 metres start, pan to Konovalov just piping George Ellis of London in a terrific finish. SV Russian athletes watching. SV towards, Jean Deforges winning the long jump for London. CU Jean Deforges. SV towards, pole the vault P. Denisenko, European and Soviet record holder clearing the bar. CU Geoff Elliott of London who went on to win the pole vault. GV 5000 metre race on the way. Vladimir Kuts leading, Chris Chataway with Driver in third place. SCU pan 5000 metre race on the way, Kuts leading, Chataway with Driver in third place. SV towards, Kuts breaks away to pile on the pace, & STV. Chataway hanging on and following the pace comfortably, & SV. SCU pan, Soviets watching. LV pan, last lap, Kuts maintains lead as they open up and dash towards the last bend. They enter the straight and race towards tape with Kuts still heading Chataway who manages to take lead. CU exhausted Chataway with Bannister. SV Bannister congratulating Chataway. SCU Chataway.

    The event pictured here took place on 13 October 1954.

    "Alexander Anufryev" in text and tags should read Aleksandr Anufriyev.

    "Lituyev" is Yuriy Lituyev.

    "Driver" is Peter Driver.
