  • Description

    Channel Swimmers at Dover, Kent.

Swimmers prepare to cross English Channel; 1920s. A man and 2 women; all in old-fashioned swimsuits; stand in front of a tent with sign 'Channel Swimming Station'; they jokingly demonstrate swimming strokes. ECU's of each; 1 of the women is exceptionally unattractive; fat & w/ bad teeth (this is the opinion of American cataloguer - I don't think she's that bad! She has long hair, freckles and gappy teeth - SL). The 3 pose looking out of tent. Swimmers walk through crowd toward water.

Swimmers in the water; various shots; camera must be on something out in the water. Then shot of swimmers walking up beach from water; through another crowd. Another woman swimmer in various poses by the sea. Then sitting on ground putting on swimming cap. She walks into the waves - cool shot. Then shot of same woman walking out of water; toward camera.

    Stunts; endurance sports. Swimming; long-distance.
