    Various shots show the building of a new airfield in the wooded area of Ceylon. A bulldozer pushes down trees, an elephant with a man on its back lifts tree trunks with his tusks and trunk. M/S of men and women at work on the building of the airfield.

    M/S tea pickers at work in fields. Tea baskets are brought in, weighed up and paid for.

    Tapping rubber trees and sap cups being collected. In a factory rubber sap is poured into moulds. The sponge latex is put through rollers after it sets and comes out as pure rubber. Lengths of rubber are put on benches and cut.

    Several shots show process of young rubber trees being bud-grafted - a bud of good quality high yielding tree is grafted onto young rubber trees.
