    Cardiff, Wales.

    Begins with shots of young playing with coloured building blocks. He stacks them on top of each other, looking very determined. When the structure tumbles he looks shocked. Another young boy is seen in the open air walking across the rubble of a building site. Two other boys watch as a mechanical digger scoops up earth. Various shots of new high rise buildings. Industrial landscapes. Drawings and photographs of slums are contrasted with modern buildings.

    City centre - Various buses are seen, destinations include Newport, Penarth, Barry, etc. Trains are seen travelling through Cardiff. Street scenes - lots of traffic in city centre. C/U of children waiting to cross a road. Various shots of people crossing roads. Road sweeper. Child stands on the pavement crying. Mother comes and picks him up. Traffic lights, high angle shot of people crossing the road holding umbrellas.

    Large municipal building (not recognised by this cataloguer), other landmarks of Cardiff. Various buildings, C/U of sculptural piece on side of a large building. C/U of poster for the feature film 2001 - A Space Odyssey. Children throw snowballs at each other in the street. A child is seen walking home. Painting of the Welsh dragon symbol is seen on a brick wall. Sports stadium. Panning shot.

    High angle shots of the city. Artist's impression of cityscape as it might be in the future is superimposed. A model of a new town planning scheme is seen and businessmen / architects crouch down to look at it.

    Travelling shot from inside a car of city street. Municipal car park. Glamour girl in short furry jacket steps off escalator in a modern outdoor shopping centre. Fast montage of shoppers, cars, traffic, jogger, secretaries, workers, National Sports Centre for Wales, shop window mannequins, jogger dodging pedestrians, etc. C/U of one of the architect walking through crowded street. Landscaped park gardens, child runs around. Child seen at the beginning of the film is seen again stacking his building blocks.
