He gives a running commentary on a large dinner party that is supposedly taking place, but he does it in the style of a sports commentator. When they start eating he says "They're off!" There are various sporting references, he describes a man drinking his soup and says it is well dribbled! When they bring the chicken on he says "it looks like a fowl to me!" He continues in this vein until the end of the meal.
