The Monte Carlo Rally seen here took place from 24-30 January 1949.
"Hotchkiss (winning car)" - it's a Hotchkiss 686GS.
"Bristol coming to a halt. driven by Dobry Trybal" should read Bristol 400 coming to a halt, driven by Frantisek Dobry and Zdenek Treybal.
"Winners - Trvoux and Lesurque" should read Jean Trevoux and Marcel Lesurque.
"drivers of the Hotchkiss receiving first prize, from the Prince Rainier or Prince Pierre" - although the commentator identifies the man as Prince Pierre, I agree with the cataloguer that it appears instead to be Prince Rainier.
