    We then see contestants in the annual canoe race from Quebec to Levis paddling down the St Lawrence river. People watch from the riverside. The crews have to pull their boats across the pack ice; one man starts to slip through the ice but manages to get onto a firmer section.

    The winning crew pull their canoe across the ice to finish the race.
