• Short Summary

A trip along the Regent's Canal from Paddington to Camden Town.

  • Description

    Paddington and Camden Town, London.

Various shots take us on a journey with other passengers along the Regent's Canal on a barge called 'Jason' - first barge ever to be licensed by the Ministry of Transport to carry trippers along the canal. We travel along under bridges and past Georgian terraces. Artist John James at the tiller gives a commentary through a microphone.

L/S of the elephants and crowds in London Zoo as we drift by. As we approach Camden Town we pass another barge, carrying a grubby and scowling boy. Views of Camden from the barge.

    Notes and cutting on file.

Cataloguer's note: one of the buildings in the Camden sequence can be glimpsed from the Pathe cataloguing room!
