    Various shots of a party of fifty Canadian war veterans and their wives in the chambers of St James' Palace prior to meeting the Queen Mother. The Canadians had all served with the British Army in Europe during the Second World War. Various shots as the Queen Mother accompanied by Princess Margaret, Duchess of Gloucester and Princess Marina Duchess of Kent enter the room and after formal introductions they mix with the Canadians and chat informally. Queen Mother is not wearing hat on this occasion.
