    Prince Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII and Duke of Windsor), inspects Guard of Honour in Vancouver; British Columbia; the guards wear kilts and black hats.

    Title - 'Is presented with an Address at Stanley Park - crowds sing National Airs'. Prince presents decorations to soldiers on platform in park with crowd surrounding. MS 3 men. MS conductor standing on box in midst of crowd; waving baton; apparently ignored by all around him! (Only a few seem to be singing). MS of Prince going through crowd.

    Title - 'Passing through the crowds to inspect the "Middies"'. Various shots as Prince, Army & Navy officers inspect cadets in sailor uniforms.

    Title - 'The Prince visits Shaughnessy Military Hospital'. MS Prince in ward talking to men lying in beds and meeting nurses.

    Title - 'A Royal salute is fired by blowing stumps into the air'. Man stands on stump waving signal flag back & forth. Explosions in distance; burnt stumps & trunks in foreground.

    Title - 'Leaving Penticton, B C for tour Okanagan Lake'. Shot from departing ship; Prince at rail waves to crowd on pier.
    Title - 'The Prince arriving at Summerland B C'. The Prince goes off ship where another crowd waits on smaller pier; many flags waving etc.

    Title - 'Arrival at Vernon B C'. Coming off another ship; Prince shakes hands with white-haired man. MS Prince meeting a few people; in countryside?

    Title - 'In the shadow of a giant apple tree receives Address at Vernon'. Crowd in park; including packed grandstand; a few people watch from horseback. Prince stands on a platform on which there is a square gazebo topped by a giant pot and top of apple tree with words Canadian Fruit; also a sort of column with pyramid of apples on top.

    Title - 'A talk with Apple Ranchers, Vernon district'. Pan on crowd in stands.

    Title - 'The Prince arrives at Nelson B C and is driven through the streets'. Motorcade on dirt street, large banner above 'Long Live Our Future King'.

    Title - 'Leaving Nelson on steamer Kootenay Lake - Waves goodbye'. MS of Prince on deck of ship. Title - 'Views of Nelson and flotilla of small boats'. Tracking shot of town from ship - docks; small boats; another steamer. Small boats accompany steamer. CU of paddle in motion.

    Title - 'Arrives at Balfour B C - visits soldiers in Civil Reestablishment Hospital'. Arrival in Balfour; British Columbia.

    Prince & party come up steps from boat; pass under sign for him to see when leaving 'Au Revoir Comrade and Prince'. Prince (wearing plus-fours & cloth cap) visits soldiers in Civil Reestablishment Hospital; sitting on cushioned seats on the porch; he goes around chatting & shaking hands. Prince & party walking from house. Wide shot hospital - large meandering house in sort of Swiss chalet style. A few nurses & men (the recuperating soldiers?) sitting on grass on high bluff overlooking river; one man patting a dog.

    Title - 'Views of clouds on mountain tops'. Another mountain shot (poor quality).

    Title - 'Scenes on Kootenay Lake with Royal Train on barge'. Shots of barge on Kootenay Lake: mountains & hills covered with pines - northern woods; other barges; tugboats; small rowing boat. Would be rather scenic but; like preceding shots; poor quality.

    Amendment - November 2011: A visitor to the site has corrected the original intertitles for this clip. The Prince of Wales is not laying the cornerstone of a school named Prince of Wales School. In fact, the Prince is laying the cornerstone of a statue of Queen Victoria which still stands on the lawn of the Provincial Parliament Building.
