The incident occurred on 2 September 1966, at the "Canadian International Air Show".

The plane involved was a Grumman F-11 Tiger, one of the "Blue Angels" display team. The pilot, Lt Cmdr Dick Oliver, died in the crash.

I distrust that this is the crash at the CNE in 1966.

The plane I saw failed to pull out of a horizontal pass, instead waterskiing into the steel breakwater.

This is quite possibly footage of an earlier crash at the CNE, perhaps the one in 1957.

Terrible to watch. Thanks for the additional information.
