Ace music hall performer Billy Bennett does some funny stuff - plays darts, eats fish and chips etc.
An intertitle tells us that Billy Bennett (who is "almost a gentleman") is seen leaving his Club (shot missing). Intertitle reads: "He likes the best of everything - all the best restaurants know him as a man of taste..." We see Billy Bennett emerging from a fish and chip shop. Signs on the windows advertise Fish Suppers and Fish Dinners. Billy wears a top hat and a sort of caped coat. He is shaking vinegar on to his chips. A man and a woman come out after him - the man (who apparently works in the chip shop) takes the vinegar off him. The woman stands by Billy's side eating her chips. C/U of the comedy duo eating their chips from newspaper. Billy has a large fake moustache and the woman wears geeky round glasses and a funny hat. They look a bit grumpy and Billy chucks one of his chips on the ground. They walk off together.
"Billy's fondness for sport is exemplified in the skill and grace which accompany his efforts...." Billy has a go at playing darts. M/S of him throwing his arrows. C/U of the dartboard. Billy isn't very good. He makes a great palaver of throwing the darts. When the camera cuts back to an bigger angle we see that he is in fact standing very close to the dartboard. There is another man with him - a comedy Scotsman it seems, with a very large beard and a Scottish looking tam-o'-shanter hat. There is a table beside them which has tankards and bottles of beer so the set is presumably supposed to represent a pub or men's club. Billy chucks a dart and it lands in his friend's bottom. They shake hands though and then toast each other. C/U of the two as they drink each others' health. Billy lifts up his moustache as he drinks his beer. "You know Billy as a Comedian - now meet him as himself..." L/S of Billy and another friend (possibly the Scottish character in mufti) on a golf course. They take some shots then shake hands as the ball is potted (if that is the right golfing term?) Billy asks his friend via sign language if he fancies a drink and they gather up their golfing gear.
