Cadets in Hyde Park 1946
I'm 87 now, I was 15 in 1946 and I was one of those cadets. Which one? That's a good question. I was a laddie down from Scotland together with others. I might not even recognize myself if put to it.
But I have never forgotten the experience, and latterly I have searched for some documentary evidence that that particular parade did in fact take place.
Thank you Pathe.
Just as an aside: my father, also called James Ward, served with the Army Kinema Corps (later Corporation) from the 1940's until his death in Malaya in 1956. I found a mention of him in a piece by Mr Haberly, but otherwise not much else.
With my regards,
Yours truly
j. p. ward.
