    Note: Buchenwald was one of the older Nazi concentration camps, discovered and liberated by US forces in April 1945.

    The Buchenwald trial ran from 11 April to 14 August 1947.

    Ilse Koch referred to in the body text was the notorious "Witch of Buchenwald".

    The man with the bandaged head at 00:13 is camp adjutant Hans-Theodor Schmidt.

    Also at 00:13, left of Ilse Koch, is Hauptscharfuhrer Josef Kestel.

    Glimpsed at 00:31, the man with the moustache and bald head on the left of picture is camp guard Herman Helbig.

    The man seen at 00:35, with his hand to his face, is Buchenwald Commandant Hermann Pister.

    The defendant seen at 00:39 with the shaved head is Werner Greunuss.
