• Short Summary

Fishermen in Brixham who have formed a co-operative are seen at work.

  • Description

    Brixham, Devon.

Several picturesque views of the harbour at Brixham; a man on the quay paints the fishing village. Several shots of fishermen preparing their boats for work, then going out to sea and throw their nets over the side. Commentator tells us the fishermen have formed a co-operative, sharing their nets, boats and catch.

Various shots of the nets being pulled in with a hefty catch of fish in them. Back in the harbour the fish are emptied into baskets and buckets as we hear the fishermen own the marketing side of the operation too. Numerous kinds of fish and crabs are weighed while a crowd stands around the auction yard.

Cuts exist - see separate record.
