Britannia Shield goes to RAF after their boxing victory over Dutch and US Air Forces.
RAF wins Britannia Shield boxing contest against Dutch and US Air Force men at Wembley. Highlight of the evening is a real slugging match between RAF's Peter Spearman and American Sylvester Banks. CU. Defence Minister Selwyn Lloyd's hand as he shakes that of Captain of R.A.F. (Royal Air Force, RAF) team Group Captain Chacksfield. Lloyd is handing over the Britannia Shield. SC. Three R.A.F. officers at salute. Pan down to Britannia Shield at their feet. CU. RAF officers watching boxing. SV. Sylvester Banks from United States Air Force in dark trunks comes out of his corner to meet RAF's LAC. Peter Spearman. SC. Boxers fighting in the ring. CU. People watching. SC. Banks against ropes. Spearman hits him with a couple of lefts, then a right, which nearly has Banks out of the ring, followed by another left which pushes him through the ropes as far as the waist. Spearman is nearly following him, referee breaks them up. CU. Trainer (presumably) giving encouragement. SC. Banks is now doing the punching and lands a right which knocks Spearman through the ropes. Referee starts to count. CU. Another trainer looking unhappy. SC. Banks and Spearman in fight. Spearman has Banks against the ropes again, where he keeps slamming at him until the gong goes and the referee has to part them (obviously haven't heard) and they go to their corners. CU. Spearman being attended to by his seconds. CU. Timekeeper. SV. Banks against ropes being hammered. Spearman lands a right to the jaw which virtually puts Banks out. Referee steps in to stop fight and leads the now bewildered Banks to his corner.
