Great footage of British servicemen and women visiting King Farouk's Zoo.
Unused / unissued material - date and locations unclear or unknown.
Various shots show a large group of British servicemen and women visiting the zoo of King Farouk.
They see geese and chickens, feed emus (ostriches?) and a giant tortoise. The soldiers and ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) girls are shown some tiny tortoises that they hold up for the camera to see.
Nice shots of servicemen and women picking fruit from trees by the side of the road and eating them (look like oranges). ATS girls, officers and soldiers ride on camels - they look like they're having a great time! Then we see the group petting a small horse and rather frightened horse. Other horses run about an enclosure.
The group sit at long tables and are served food and wine by waiters in fez hats.
