    Cairo, Egypt.

Various shots of convoy of army lorries with British trekkers on, driving through Cairo. They are the British families who are to start a new life in South Africa. Signs on sides of lorries reading 'London to Cape Town'. Three RAF officers getting out of hydroplane.

Various shots of the families organising outdoor kitchen, men, women and children with cups and plates waiting for food. Several shots of the pyramids. More shots of the lorries moving along road, a pyramid in background. Convoy stops and people get out. Several shots of the Port Said harbour with ships and barges. Various shots of the trekkers eating, resting, pushing one of the lorries - probably engine problems. More shots of the harbour, pyramids, trekkers eating, resting, cooking.

Note - name of Bill Hartshorn of Newcastle, leader of the expedition, was found in the old record.

Note from the old record reads - Cuts 46/99. It also names Bill Hartshorn of Newcastle as the leader of the expedition.
