It was a wonderful surprise to find this video of an event that I witnessed 55 years ago. I was watching the BRITANNIA from the shore when it passed westbound under the MACKINAC STRAITS BRIDGE in 1959. There was a fog, just north of the vessel and it shows in a short portion of the film. I was to the south and so I had a wonderful sunlit view of the Royal Yacht as it passed my summer home in northern Michigan.--Hartland Smith
