    King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) open the "Britain Can Make It" exhibition. Various shots of the latest women's fashions, modelled by mannequins on rotating podium. Various shots of King and Queen walking around exhibition, accompanied by Prime Minister Clement Attlee, Mrs Attlee and Sir Stafford Cripps (President of the Board of Trade). C/U of King making speech to open exhibition.

    C/U of the ultra modern 1947 streamlined bicycle. C/U of women's fashionable plastic shoes, pan to show aircraft gun turret made of same material. Various shots of Queen inspecting mechanised toys. C/U of man operating wall radio, he inserts plug into map of Europe. Various shots of modern gadget filled kitchen (looks quite archaic now). Low angled shot of large model eye suspended from ceiling of exhibition.
